When the sun goes down on Massachusetts Street, Lawrence comes alive. There's music, dancing and excitement everywhere you look.

Music Scene

Great music is an essential ingredient in the eclectic mix of Lawrence nightlife. Many of the local bars and restaurants feature live music on any given night, and other venues are known for booking great live acts every night of the week.

Coffee Shops

After a concert or a movie at Liberty Hall, head next door to La Prima Tazza, one of Lawrence's many unique coffee shops. Sip one of their house blends or a coffee concoction of your own design. Just down the street, Milton's is the perfect place to start your night with a delicious meal, or top it off with a sampling of fine coffees and espresso drinks.

If you really want to move your feet, Abe & Jake's Landing and the Granada serve up drinks, live music and distinctive atmosphere in two of the most exciting venues in Lawrence.

As the last dinner guests filter out of Teller's in downtown Lawrence, the atmosphere at this elegant Italian restaurant starts to heat up a little. The lights go down, the music gets just a little louder, the bar just a little livelier.

Breweries

Opened in 1989 as the first legal brewery in Kansas in more than 100 years, Free State Brewing Co. quickly became one of Lawrence's most popular restaurants and nightspots. Enjoy one of their fine handcrafted beers on the patio or select from their excellent and varied menu and delicious daily specials.
