New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music

June 27 – August 10, 2008

This Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition looks at roots music as "America's Soundtrack." Beginning with Native American music, the exhibit charts the development of roots music through the folk revival of the 1960s. Experience the history of the music through artifacts, photographs and music and try your hand at a variety of folk instruments.
