Lawrence selected as site for 2008 Chautauqua
January 11, 2008 | Lawrence, Kan –Lawrence has been selected as a host community for the 2008 Bright Dreams, Hard Times: America in the Thirties Chautauqua. This festival of learning will be held June 18-22 under a big-top tent in Lawrence’s South Park.

October 13, 2006 | LAWRENCE, Kan.--The Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau (LCVB) was presented with four marketing awards at the Travel Industry Association of Kansas’ (TIAK) annual meeting held October 8-11, 2006 in Dodge City.
Lawrence CVB announces 2005 direct spending figures
February 15, 2006 | The Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau has released its annual figures regarding direct spending by visitors to Lawrence. During 2005, spending by visitors totaled approximately $42 million.
"Black Cloud" to premiere in Lawrence on March 31
March 15, 2005 | "Black Cloud," a film written, directed and co-produced by actor Rick Schroder, will premiere at Lawrence’s Liberty Hall on March 31 at 7 p.m. Schroder will attend the event and lead a Q&A session following the screening. Tickets can be purchased at the Liberty Hall box office.
Bleeding Kansas National Heritage Area to have Senate hearing
March 14, 2005 | Lawrence CVB Director, Judy Billings, will testify on behalf of the proposed Bleeding Kansas National Heritage Area to a Senate Subcommittee on Tuesday, March 15 in Washington D.C. The Energy and National Resources, National Parks Subcommittee will hear testimony from Billings and the National Park Service at 2:30p.m. regarding S. 175.

March 14, 2005 | The Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau has released its annual figures regarding direct spending by visitors to Lawrence. During 2004, spending by visitors totaled approximately $41.4 million.

January 24, 2005 | The Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau (LCVB) will host its first quarterly hospitality employee training session on Thursday, January 27, from 3-6 p.m. The event will begin and end at the Visitor Information Center, 402 N. 2nd St., with participants also visiting several area attractions during the training.
