The mission of Destination Management, Inc. is to promote tourism in Lawrence and Douglas County by focusing fiscal resources on heritage and cultural assets in an effective and collaborative manner. This function will be managed by the President and CEO of the organization. Services to other heritage and cultural entities will be provided by mutual agreements.
The Board of Directors consists of either the Mayor or his/her appointee, City Manager, County Commission Chair or his/her appointee, two members of the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area (a contract for services), one member of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce and one member of the CVB Advisory Board appointed by the Mayor.
